What is Altus?
Altus Disputatio, the flagship event of NUALS, follows a patented format of Debate called The Devil’s Cross. The contest begins with a draw of lots to determine the proponents and opponents. The competitors face off against each other on a given phrase by interpreting it and justifying their arguments. Based on the reasoning posited, either one of the interpretations is chosen, and the floor is set for debate. Post the debate, the contestants shall face questions from the panel, including an inquisitor.

Sidharth V
Convenor
If there is a guy who does absolutely no work but is too good at putting others to work, that's Sidharth for you. He can often be seen taking quick strides around the campus as if he is in a walkathon! He claims he is chasing perfection, and if you say nobody is perfect; yes, he is nobody!
Ustat Sethi
Co-Convenor
When she is not scribbling away in her haiku journal, Ustat enjoys dancing, directing, and discussing everything from socio-politics to cryptography. She is an undergraduate law student and an award winning poet who’s on the editorial board of NUALS Law journal. An inquisitive mind, constantly driven by an urge to excel.
Moosa Mihran
Creative Team Lead
Open-minded and unconventional, Moosa enjoys playing with novel ideas and theories, but especially having discussions (bantering) with others. Widely considered the batch "cutie", he looks like a cinnamon roll but could potentially maim you if you talk during a movie. Having survived in Alapuzzha despite not knowing how to swim, clearly, he is not the one to back down from a challenge. He values authenticity and strives for originality in whatever he does.
Joshua Joseph Jose
Marketing Team Lead
Joshua Joseph Jose is a student at NUALS Kochi who did his schooling in Bengaluru. He likes playing basketball, listening to Peter Cat Recording Co. and indulging in healthy discussions. Moreover he enjoys witnessing a spectacle!
Aadia Nair
Ideation Team Lead
Driven by a curious mind, a passionate heart and, an indomitable spirit, Aadia is a person who takes the road less travelled by. Delving into novel ideas is her forte and playing with them; second nature to her.
Rajnandan Gadhi
Human Capital Team Lead
Raj is first year law student at NUALS whose depth of personality is only rivaled by the depth of his voice. He likes reading obscure 20th century novels and shooting hoops on a school night. He enjoys debating as much as the next man if the next man is Arnab Goswami. As they say in Chennai where he comes from, Raj is a real All-in-All Azhagu Raja.
Alvin Sam
Catering Team Lead
Alvin Sam is an undergraduate law student who did his schooling in Saudi and Bahrain but has strong roots in Kottayam. His passion for food and gym has brought him to become the Catering Team Lead. 'Live and let live' is his motto of life.
Devika Pradeepan
Logistics Team Lead
Always taking into consideration the suggestions of her teammates, Devika is a team player first and a team leader next. Her observational skills, prudence, perseverance, and commitment often come in handy as she constantly attempts to convert challenges into opportunities. Ever the jack of all trades, you can find her exploring new interests when she is not busy chasing sunsets.
Ishan Sharan Kaushik
Hospitality Team Lead
Having a long history of being involved in theatre club, Ishan is an extremely inquisitive and approachable person who enjoys meeting new people from a variety of backgrounds . Apart from having a passion for cricket and music, his love for Real Madrid made him a tenacious individual, which he applies to his work ethic.
Benson Binoy
OC Lead
Benson is a first year law student deeply passionate about social issues with an incessant drive to learn. When not in the cricket nets or listening to music, he can be found reading some random book on history or reminiscing about his time “back in Sharjah”.
Vanshika Punia
OC Lead
Quirky yet inquisitive, vanshika is an ardent student who finds exuberance and fun in reading and teaching. She has good experience in team work coordination and is also working as the current student council member in NUALS. Besides having fervent interest in different sports, she embraces all opportunities that come her way.
Harit Raj Patel
OC Lead
Harit Raj Patel is an undergraduate law student who hails from Rajasthan. He is a person with a collaborative attitude and a strong work ethic, driven by an exorbitant passion for exploring new things that come his way.
